Pros: Location is everything The history of Pensione Popolo is very dear to my heart Great food & music downstairs!

Cons: Wish I could have stayed longer.

Pros: Friendly staff, great value for money, comfy beds, clean room and bathrooms, common area with fridge and water boiler available.

Cons: Steep staircase, outdoor traffic can get a little loud in the morning, would be nice if a microwave would be available.

Enjoyable stay in the heart of Montreal

Pros: Great location, in the heart of Montreal on the doorstep of plenty of shops, restaurants, bars and music venues. Room was cozy, they provide nice towels. The staff who work in the connected bar are extremely helpful & friendly.

Cons: Some of the other guests left the shared bathrooms in sloppy condition (like not flushing the toilet); but other than that the cleaning staff did a good job. Wi-Fi was pretty slow, but it worked. There is no front desk and you need to use a pinpad to access the building & your room, so make sure that you receive the codes by e-mail before you arrive; I didn't because there was a technical glitch but the staff in the bar downstairs (connected to the accommodations) were extremely helpful in getting the information so I could gain access.

Pros: Super freindly, relaxed check in and check out. Quiet consisering it was above a bar. Comfy bed, great location.

Cons: The window was a bit loose and rattled a bit, but i am not complaining. It was just something i noticed.

Pros: It's in the perfect location, the room was clean and air-conditioned, and the bed was comfy. The staff was super helpful. The owner's number is on the welcome email, texting him if you have a problem is the way to go. Make sure that you know that the room and front door code change at the time of check-out, you could get locked out if you don't pay attention to the time.

Cons: I received an email saying that my stay was canceled, and the low fair I found on Bookings.com was not what I eventually paid. The Pensione however, sent me all the information that I needed, so I wonder if the issue was at the Bookings.com end of things. It made for confusion, and initially I had a hard time getting in touch with the Pensione staff.

Clean, Comfortable and Great Location

Pros: The lounge and coffee room was a nice addition since I was last there. Washrooms and shower were very private for shared, clean, comfortable and lots of them. Excellent location. Nice to know staying there isn't taking a rent-able apartment out of the local housing pool. Loved seeing the clear support of Palestine on the premises.

Cons: Plants needed water, and the wifi was a bit intermittent and weak in the room I was in. You need to be able to get up two sets of stairs with your bags for those who have mobility issues.

Pros: The atmosphere. The manager was amazing and super friendly

Great location for the Mile End and Le Plateau adventure.

Pros: The property is in a really fun neighborhood. It’s quirky and each room has a great design. The common area is comfortable and accessible.

Cons: Maybe new carpets at some point. A kettle that would be easier to fill from the tap.

Perfect place and location! Especially if you are playing or going to one of the venues below…

Pros: Amazing location, great room, helpful staff who really helped me in a bind.

The owner was very helpful and responsive.
