Charming and Welcoming

Pros: Charming decor. Felt like going back in time. Pleasant deck to relax on. Clean and comfortable. Our room was upstairs, and the owners helped us with our luggage.

Cons: It would have been nice if the restaurant were open for breakfast every day. (We did have a nice breakfast on our last day.) No refrigerator.

It was very pleasant & staff were helpful.

Pros: We did not have breakfast as it was not served on the days we stayed there.

Cons: The bedroom was slightly dated - the wash basin in the bedroom reminded me of the 1970s Ireland.

Pros: Chantal and Brandon, the owners, are friendly and attentive to ensure all your needs are met. This historic gem is quaint and to be enjoyed by those who appreciate history and quiet downtime. One will receive a great welcome with personalized service. The room is Victorian style and very clean. The toiletries are L'Occitane, which is top quality. I will definitely be returning next year.

Comfort, coziness, and charm - all in a lovely setting and staffed by lovely people!

Pros: The Auberge is so charming and filled with history! The location was perfect for us, as we were able to leave our car in the parking lot and walk to everywhere in Knowlton that we wanted to go. Our room was clean, comfortable, and blissfully cool and quiet. And the staff - both at reception and in the dining room, where we had a wonderful breakfast - were friendly and helpful. We plan to go back some day in the near future!

Cons: Okay, there's no elevator - but it's an older property, so taking the stairs wasn't a big deal. We were even offered help with our bags, which was really kind, but we decided we needed the exercise!

Pros: Breakfast was great, staff are friendly and accommodating. The Inn is a very interesting building with so many possibilities for events since it has a hall with seating, dance floor and stage, a restaurant (steak house that was not open at time of our visit), and a pub and restaurant which has great ambiance. The antiques throughout are interesting.

Lovely unique place to stay.

Pros: Breakfast was great, lots of variety and well cooked. Loved all the antiques.

Cons: Our first roomnwas very small. Fortunately we wee able to switch.

Great experience. Looking forward to our next visit.

Pros: This hotel has new owners who are working hard to make their guests comfortable and happy with their stay. While the building is a work in progress ( it is as old as it is charming) the ambience, comfort and food were excellent! We will be back.

Our stay in Knowlton at the Lakeview Inn(early Sept)

Pros: The quaintness and scale of the Inn was wonderful to see upon our arrival. Location of this Inn was very handy to the main street of village. The Inn seemed to be the only action in town...and with their own inhouse classic wood clad pub-- with really fresh and tasty local brews on tap!!--we were more than happy! In the morning they served really good locally roasted coffee too! And we were free to enjoy our beverages out on the lovely front porch ! The new hosts are a great team and enthusiastic about our visit to their town.! We wish to see them again!

Perfect stay! Can't wait to go back. Autumn would be a lovely getaway.

Pros: The Auberge was just perfect. We enjoyed a relaxing stay in an old world charm type of place. Having stayed there before, I was impressed with the new owners, a lovely couple, and what they had done to the place. Clean, inviting, relaxing and perfect location for a couple who had done a lot of driving and needing a respite. The breakfast the following morning was a wonderful treat although it was not part of the room rate we were happy to pay separately. Minutes from the heart of the town, a lovely walk to explore shops and a nice selection of restaurants too.

Pros: The accomodation was located within walking distance to the lake. The staff was very friendly and the room small but well equipped.
