Auberge et Chalets sur le Lac

A quiet new year's eve

Pros: Excellent location & view, quiet and well equiped room. Enough space outside.

Cons: Room could be a bit bigger. Auberge was empty considering it was new year's vacations, so I was expecting a double bed room as I was with my pet.

Lac-Megantic is very nice location to stay. The town has rebu and the people are very nice.

Pros: Nice room in cottage style. Had Adirondak chairs in front of room and very nice waterfront. Kayaks available and swimming area on Lake Megantic. Beautiful views and sunset. Fun hiking in the area with Scotch Cap, nearby with fantastic views of the area. The old granite quarry is fun to visit with again beautiful views of the mountains and valleys in the area. We also visited the town of Piopolis which has a quaint town on Lac-Megantic and cute trails in the marshes and woods.

Cons: Unfortunately for us the weather was very cool / cold and windy when we visited so no water sports for us. The restaurant was ok but not great, did not go for the ribs. Room was cold until we found the thermostat to turn on the heat. No cream rinse in the shower which would be nice and expected.

It was mostly great. Too bad the restaurant wasn't available.

Pros: It was nice to have a cabin rather than a hotel room when travelling.

Cons: The wifi was not great. It kept cutting out.

Cons: Early in the morning the passing trains sounded their horns.

Quaint get away.

Pros: Booked a simple chalet, very basic but met our needs for a small get away. Clean inside, small spa type tub. Walking distance to the restaurant. Lake is Absolutely beautiful .

Cons: no continental breakfast only during the in season - they said. The wait time to pay the restaurant tab.

Peaceful, comfortable, and no matter my comments on odors I would go there again.

Cons: Well, it is a dated lodging and old odors do linger no matter how much cleaning is done. If a deep down deodorizing were to be done, they would actually need to take out the walls and all linens, curtains and bedding and put in brand new everything...

Loved it, will certainly go back. Great they have a restaurant at the property.

Pros: Water view of the lake from the room and closeness to everything on the property. Very quaint. Loved the pool by the lake, outdoor seating areas, dock and outdoor games to play. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Everything was clean and conveniently located. Loved coffee in the morning on the dock! Love how pretty much the entire Lac Mègantic area supports the dark-sky movement, which is protective of the night sky as a resource and reduces light pollution. Best of all, the chalets are dog friendly!

Cons: Be nice to see the Auberge support the area more as a dark sky friendly destination. Outdoor lighting at the facility could use improvement. Flood lights pointing up at the entrance are blinding when entering the property almost to the point it is dangerous (consider smaller, shielded units that aim down) and the string lights hung from the front soffit of the building shine light into the chalets all night long, even with the blackout curtains fully closed. With some good, simple, basic lighting design, this place would be an even more amazing night time resource, just like the rest of the Lac Mègantic area. https://darksky.org/what-we-do/darksky-approved/darksky-approved-lodging/ Bed mattresses are a little too stiff.

Beaut Location and Great Room

Pros: We were allocated a quiet room as we requested. We arrived to find a crackling fire playing on the TV. The room was well equipped with coffee machine, fridge, toaster oven, heater/cooler, overhead fan and TV. The bed was comfortable. We loved the location beside the lake and had a nice dinner at the on site restaurant. Recommended!

Cons: The TV was difficult to operate and the instructions weren't as helpful as they could have been. The room was a bit stuffy before we worked out how to turn the fan on.

Pros: -Spa et salle d'arcade -La vue -Lit très confortable -Très cozy -Assez près de la ville -Pratique avec les items de cuisine -Bon rapport qualité/prix

Cons: -Réception et chemin vers le spa dans l'entrée du restaurant...assez étrange, sinon tout est beau et authentique! -Si quelqu'un fume dehors, ça sent dans toute la chambre, mais ce n'est pas de leur faute..
