Auberge Alternative

Great bed, place and stay in a lovely location.

Pros: Great common space, most comfortable bed I've had in a hostel.

It was good value for money and pleasant.

Pros: Location, bed was really comfortable, kitchen is well equipped. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

Cons: Only 1 toilet available on my floor for a lot of people to share. It caused issues. Staircase is really narrow to bring a suitcase.

Pros: Kind staff Nearby there are some good restaurants.

Cons: We got the upper bunk. The height is very high. So my friend felt a little scare first time.

Friendly well run hostel in great location

Pros: Great well-run hostel really close to the old town and river in Montreal and well served by buses. Easy walk to everywhere you are likely to want to go. We booked a double room and had a double bed plus bunks in the room so plenty of space. The window opened and an aircon was available. Towels were included and there was even a chat of drawers and towel rails which was nice. Bathrooms were very clean and there were enough on each floor. Good showers and plenty of hot water. Reception staff were awesome. Always someone available 7am to 11pm, friendly and helpful. Kitchen is super well equipped with everything plus games, books etc. We missed the weekly poutine night (try to be there on a Thursday). There's a washing machine available after 4pm which is also handy. This is a really well run friendly hostel with a nice vibe, highly recommend.

Cons: Somewhere to put your soap in the shower would be handy. Otherwise everything was great.

Very worth the detour

Pros: Friendly staff, very quiet in the room. Wi-Fi is better on 3rd floor than anywhere else

Cons: A/C in the room on 3rd floor, next to window but... bed in front of it and all sides covered so cold air not going in the room. And it was way too hot!!!

Pros: Everyone was super friendly and the kitchen was very nice, will deffinately use next time

Cons: The outside smelled of sewage and the business across the street was blasting cooking smoke right at the entrance. The sewage i mean, it is what it is i guess thats kinda just the location. But the cooking smoke, the hostel should deffinately complain to the neighboring business cuz that is not ok. The spider webs could have been cleaned up a bit inside and the one window that was permanently open needs a screen to prevent bugs from coming in

Pros: Friendly staff, room very clean, shower area well cleaned

Cons: Hard to travel from Auberge to downtown via bus. Not Auberge fault though.

Pros: Amazing location and very nice staff! The hostel itself is very homely and clean.

Great hostel in the heart of Montreal

Pros: Fantastic vibe in this hostel, where people were friendly and staff very helpful in giving suggestions for what to do during my stay. I had my own time to work, cook, chat, and experience the city. I loved the new bathroom on the 3rd floor and the comfy couches in the shared room.

Cons: The beds are a bit noisy and on the cheap side, but I had no problem sleeping.

Pros: Good location, good system of entry in the hostel and in the room, clean room and bathrooms
