The Grey Nuns Residence by Concordia University

This is a good choice for staying in Montréal in the summer

Pros: The biggest plus is the location. The residence is in the centre of the city and literally close to everything that a tourist needs. Everything was clean and tidy. The room was quite big and it also had a washbasin in it.

Convenient, clean and cheap

Pros: Very calm and large room. A lot of space to unpack and work in the room. The location was also very convenient for public transportation. The bus from the airport stops nearby.

Cons: I had to wait for the staff to come at my arrival. The room was very far from the entrance and I lost my way a couple of times in the corridors...

Typical University Residence accommodation - friendly, happy and basic!

Pros: The staff were fantastic. Friendly, helpful and supportive. Cannot praise their helpful attitudes enough. The room was spacious with a lovely view of trees - in the middle of the city! So fun to march up the Mont Real and, on the way back, visit the nearby Musee de Beaux Arts!

Cons: The room was a bit grubby - particularly around the heating vent at the corner of the room. The bathroom was close enough but I struggled with the shower temperature. There was a plumbing problem when I visited so perhaps it was a temporary thing.

Nice dormitory hotel .

Pros: Good location. Interesting building - you sleep in dormitory (which was nuns convent in the past). Mosquito nets on windows. Good location. Direct bus to/from the airport stops nearby.

Cons: You need to walk up the stairs a little. No problem unless you are handicapped/sick. Bathroom and shower had thin not-full door. If someone comes to make a dump in toilet just next to shower then you will smell it :( . The bathroom may feel uncomfortable, especially if you are single girl.

I would stay here again

Pros: Very helpful and generally very friendly staff. Extremely clean and safe premises. Excellent location. Very good price. Interesting historical building. I would stay here again.

Cons: There is no air-conditioning, but there is a fan in the room. You can open a window and run the fan, but if you are very sensitive to the heat you might find it a bit uncomfortable during very hot weather.

Great if you're on a budget and just need a place to sleep as a solo traveler

Pros: Great value and location. There was a fridge in the solo room. The fan in the room did a good job of circulating the air.

Cons: The lighting in the room was a bit sterile. If it was a heat wave, it would probably be a bit uncomfortable.

I was looking for a one-night, safe and clean stay at good value - and I got it!

Pros: The room and washrooms were clean, the building secure.

Cons: It was very hot and humid in Montreal during my stay - a fan was provided but it didn't oscillate so it was difficult to move air to the two beds.

Pros: Very friendly and helpful staff, great location, easy to get from the airport

Cons: It was a bit hot, but rooms have fans and window open is ok

Pros: Very good location, good amenities and kept clean

Good enough if you know what to expect

Pros: The building is gorgeous, and conveniently located.

Cons: The lack of air conditioning, the shared bathrooms with no sinks and the stiffness of the bed made this a less than comfortable stay - but it was still livable enough, and not overpriced.
